Frequently Asked Questions

Browse through our FAQ section for quick answers about registration, services, benefits, security, and how TradEdge works with governments and associations.

TradEdge is a digital platform that organizes and empowers the informal sector – traders, artisans, farmers, transporters, and small businesses – with digital identity, financial access, insurance, and structured support from governments and partners.

Any member of the informal economy – including market traders, shop owners, artisans, farmers, transport workers, cooperatives, unions, and associations – can be registered individually or in groups.

TradEdge is currently focused on Nigeria with expansion plans across Africa. Pilot projects and state-level implementations are being rolled out with governments, associations, and partners.

You can register through:
  • Approved TradEdge field agents and enumerators in your market or community.
  • Self-enrollment via the web portal at www.tradedge.ng.
  • Association-led onboarding when your union or cooperative partners with TradEdge.

You will typically provide:
  • Full name, phone number, and address.
  • Business details (market, line, product, or service type).
  • NIN and other KYC details where required to open an account.
  • Association or cooperative membership (if applicable).
Additional information may be requested for special programs, loans, or insurance.

Basic digital registration is generally free. However, certain services – such as insurance bundles, ID card production, or premium financial services – may attract clearly communicated fees or charges agreed with your association or program sponsor.

Key benefits include:
  • A verified digital identity and profile.
  • Access to partner bank accounts and wallets.
  • Eligibility for insurance, credit, and targeted government interventions.
  • Recognition by associations, unions, and cooperative bodies.
  • Improved visibility for your business in larger markets.

TradEdge partners with licensed financial institutions to:
  • Open and link bank accounts or wallets to verified users.
  • Enable payments, collections, savings, and settlements.
  • Support credit and overdraft programs for eligible users or groups.
All financial services are provided in line with CBN and regulatory guidelines.

TradEdge uses industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure communication channels, and strict access controls. We comply with NDPR and follow global best practices to keep your personal and business data safe.

Your information is used to:
  • Create your profile and enable services you opt into.

We do not sell your personal data, and any sharing with partners is governed by strict agreements and regulations.
